About

Post Ref Racism was created immediately after Brexit to document the surge in racism and xenophobia that followed the referendum. Using the hashtag #PostRefRacism, the campaign created a space to record people’s experiences of racist/xenophobic incidents, and analyzed these experiences in a report.

Today, Post Ref Racism continues to shine a light on the racism and xenophobia that has taken hold in the UK. Through sharing experiences and messages of support we can combat creeping normalisation of racism and encourage people to stand up and call out racism when they see it.

What we do:

  • Offer a space where victims can be heard and people can show their solidarity.
  • Encourage everyone to call out racism and xenophobia, assuming it is safe to do so.
  • Alert the media, politicians and wider public to instances of racism and xenophobia.
